Kim Malthe-Bruun was a Danish resistance fighter and a member of the Danish resistance group Holger Danske during World War II. He was born on April 28, 1923 in Frederiksberg, Denmark.
Malthe-Bruun was actively involved in distributing underground newspapers, spreading anti-Nazi propaganda, and participating in sabotage operations against the German occupation forces in Denmark. He was eventually arrested by the Gestapo in 1944 and was severely tortured but refused to provide any information about his fellow resistance members.
On April 27, 1945, just one day before Denmark was liberated from German occupation, Malthe-Bruun was executed by the Gestapo at the age of 21. His bravery and sacrifice have made him a symbol of the Danish resistance movement during World War II.
In honor of his memory, a statue of Kim Malthe-Bruun was erected in the town of Gladsaxe, Denmark, and a street in Copenhagen was also named after him. He is remembered as a hero and a symbol of the Danish resistance against Nazi occupation.
